This has resulted in an increased demand for additional legal work which was unforeseeable and not therefore considered when the contract was let. This unanticipated work has included BAU Landlord Consents, hand backs and dilapidations, front house acquisitions and temporary expansion of Job Centres as a result of the COVID-19 Pandemic.
There would be no continuity between work streams if a new supplier was awarded the additional workstreams alone.
The time required for a new supplier to upskill to deliver would exceed the length of mobilisation period itself, therefore, to ensure continuity and avoidance of duplicate costs this modification has been made.
A change in supplier would cause significant inconvenience, delay, and duplication of work for the Department.
The Department will not exercise it's right to enter into any extension period for this contract.
