two.2.4) Description of the procurement
The Client recently declared a climate emergency and achieving a zero carbon commitment for its corporate buildings by 2030 (Climate emergency (merton.gov.uk) and in 2020 commissioned a feasibility study for a low carbon replacement of the gas fired boilers at the Civic Centre.
The feasibility recommended the abandonment of the gas fired boiler plant and replacement with a VRF system.
Following a successful bid for government grant monies the Council now wishes to move this project forward. At the same time the Council has capital monies to replace the aging electrical switchgear at the Civic and start (but not complete) the replacement of the T5 lighting with LEDs.
The aim of this contract is to design the systems and project manage the works, fully in line with the Scope and best practice.
