Signage is an important and highly visible part of the Natural Resources Wales brand. It tells people what kind of organisation we are and what we do and is an opportunity for us to present an integrated and coherent image of our organisation.
Seeing a sign is often the first contact the public will have with Natural Resources Wales. It is vital that our signs on NRW managed or owned land are of a consistent high quality. The The NRW Timber Signage Guide sets out the required standard and guidance for timber signs.
Natural Resources Wales is responsible for managing over 7% of the land in Wales, including hundreds of forests and woodlands (over 130,000 hectares), nearly 60 National Nature Reserves and a number of water and flood defences, visitor centres, recreation facilities – including hundreds of walking, mountain biking and horseriding trails as well as offices, workshops, depots, hatcheries and a laboratory. All these locations need to be recognisable as NRW and require our corporate signage for easy identification by the visiting public and stakeholders.
