CAV-OJEU-59486

Description

Cardiff and Vale University Health Board posted a tender on the 27th June 2025 for the provision of security services across its estate. This contract is broken down into 5 lots:

Lot 1: Emergency Cover

Lot 2: Cardiff and Vale Health Inclusion Service (CAVHIS)

Lot 3: Alternative Treatment Service (ATS)

Lot 4: Woodland House Security

Lot 5: Rookwood Hospital Security

The evaluation process for this tender has now concluded and Cardiff and Vale University Health Board are now in a position to award the contract.

Lot 1. Emergency Cover

Description

This will provide security cover across all CAVUHB sites during staff absences or if emergency situations arise. The staff provided will have to be SIA-licensed and the awarded provider must be able to respond to requests on short notice 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, all year round.

Please see specification on eTenderWales for the full specification.

Lot 2. CAVHIS

Description

Lot 2 will cover the CAVHIS service that is provided at the Cardiff Royal Infirmary (CRI). This service provides public health screening for individuals who are not registered with a GP and find it challenging to access healthcare services.

Please see full specification on eTenderWales.

Lot 3. ATS

Description

Due to the heightened risk of violent behaviour occurring within this service, the scheme operates on a one in, one out basis and the successful supplier will need to provide security staff who have an SIA level 3 (Close Protection Operative) qualification. The staff provided are expected to protect the GP and staff from acts of physical and non-physical assault.

Please see full specification on eTenderWales

Lot 4. Woodland House

Description

Woodland House is the corporate Headquarters for CAVUHB and as such has a high footfall of both staff and visitors. As this is a frequently accessed site, it is vital that the front of house area maintains a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for all.

Please see full specification on eTenderWales

Lot 5. Rookwood Hospital

Description

Rookwood Hospital is currently unoccupied and awaiting further redevelopment and disposal planning. As an uninhabited and strategically sensitive site, Rookwood Hospital requires professional, reliable, and consistent security services to mitigate the risk of trespassing, vandalism, theft, and other security breaches.
