North Somerset Council is seeking a comprehensive, architect- led design team to develop and deliver designs from RIBA stage 2-7 for the Back from the Brink: Birnbeck Pier project (the Project). This document comprises an invitation to tender for these services. The vision for the project is to bring Birnbeck Pier back from the brink and create a nationally unique destination that will support the regeneration of Weston-super-Mare. Birnbeck is the only pier in the country that connects to an island and the only pier in the country with 130 years of service with the RNLI who will be proudly reinstated as part of this project. Our vision is to save Birnbeck Pier and carefully bring the island and foreshore back to life in way that acknowledges historic significance whilst giving residents and visitors a truly unique experience.
This is a restricted process and the submission date refers to the Selection Questionnaire stage. The further ITT stage will have a later closing date which is advised within the ITT tender documents.
