Orbit Group Ltd wishes to provide advance notification to the market of a forthcoming tender opportunity to appoint a contractor(s) for the provision of Fire Detection and Alarm Systems (Supply and Installation) across its residential and communal properties within its property portfolio in the UK geographies: Midlands (East and West), East and South-East Regions.
How the requirements are to be structured in terms of having either one contractor to support Orbit nationally or to have two regionalised LOTS (Midlands and East/South-East), is still to be decided. Market engagement will enable Orbit to establish capabilities in relation to geographical reach.
This PIN relates to early market engagement only and is NOT a call for competition (procurement/ tender documents are not available at this time).
Any contracts for these works will be subject to separate procurement processes in accordance with the Public Contracts Regulations 2015 (as amended).
All participants in this event shall be responsible for their own costs (including third party costs) and the Contracting Authority shall have no liability to any participant.

two.2.4) Description of the procurement
The provision of these services will relate to works carried out in a number of Orbit’s residential and communal properties across its property portfolio in the UK geographies of the Midlands, the East and South-East. Orbit Group manages around 45,000 affordable homes across these areas and build around 1,500 new affordable homes every year. Over 100,000 people live in an Orbit home and our aim is to ensure the homes we provide and the places we create are good quality, affordable and safe.
Potential contractors who have the capability to fulfil each of the below key requirements to Orbit’s entire portfolio, are invited to express their interest:
Fire Detection and Alarm Systems (Supply and Installation) covering:
- System planning/design capabilities
- Full product/equipment supply and installation (including removal of existing systems) of works for: Conventional, addressable, analog, and wireless fire alarm as well as category D (1 to 2), L (1 to 5), M and P (1 and 2) systems
- Testing and Commissioning services
- Training and Documentation
- Warranty works post-installation
Potential contractors who respond to the PIN and complete the attached questionnaire may be invited to an interview to explore the market potential to fulfil these requirements.
Inclusion of any potential contractor in any supplier engagement entails no obligation on the part of the Contracting Authority concerning the award or conclusion of any contract.
