Eastleigh Borough Council is seeking a structural engineer to provide services as part of the One Horton Heath development. The service of the Structural Engineer will be to develop the detailed planning stage information in to a detailed structurally engineered design, delivering detailed design for Parcels for 393 new homes and if confirmed by the Authority, a further 110 new homes.
The Structural Engineer will be retained by EBC to carry out a compliance and design checking service and to respond to main contractor(s) site and design queries as part of the tender process and during the construction phase.

two.2.4) Description of the procurement
The service required of the Structural Engineer will be to develop the detailed planning stage information in to a structurally engineered detailed design delivering 393 new homes in two Parcels (Parcels 1.1, 1.2) and if confirmed by the Authority, a third parcel (Parcel 1.3) for a further 110 new homes, which will be subject to a separate detailed planning application.
During both the main contract tender processes for the main contractor(s) and the construction stage the Structural Engineer will be retained by the Authority to carry out a compliance checking service and respond to Structural Engineering design and site queries.
A main contractor will be appointed on a design and build basis for each parcel. Due to speed of delivery Parcel 1.1 may be operated by the main contractor across two outlets.
