two.1.4) Short description

1. Bield is seeking to award a single-supplier contract for the provision of Insurance Services, covering all of Bield’s insurance requirements. The intention is to award the contract to an insurance broker; however submissions from insurance carriers will be considered where that carrier is able to provide all of Bield’s insurance requirements. Submissions for individual elements of Bield’s insurance requirements will not be considered. For the purposes of this procurement process, an insurance carrier is considered to be ‘a company which issues and assumes the risk of an insurance policy’; an insurance broker is considered to be ‘an independent insurance agent who works with a number of insurance companies in order to arrange insurance cover for the client’.

2. This will be a restricted procedure. The new contract will cover the period from 01 April 2022 to 31 March 2025, with a further 24-month extension option. This requirement will not be divided into lots.

3. Stage 1 of the procedure (the Selection Stage) is expected to start by the end of July 2021. Stage 2 of the procedure (the Invitation to Tender) is expected to start by the end of October 2021.
