The reservoir creates the perfect platform for outdoor recreation facilities to complement wider provision at the site delivered by Nottinghamshire County Councils Mill Adventure Base Education Services and proposed high ropes public adventure facilities. Wider opportunities at the site include:

• Angling,

• Walking, cycling and a picnic area

• Bird watching

• Café which offers refreshments and information for visitors during the day

The Mill Waters Reservoir site is working towards securing the Green Flag Award in 2023 and is well used by local residents, schools, groups and organisations for informal recreation.

The Mill Adventure Base is creating a public offer over the next 6 months including adding a zipline, high ropes trail system and expanding the overnight camping options.
