Transport for London are seeking to appoint a singular supplier for the overhaul of all Jubilee Line (96TS) Train Operator Seats.

The Jubilee Line is served by the 96 Tube Stock (96TS) fleet, which comprises 63 x 7 car trains and 126 DM cars with 126 seats.

The Overhaul requirements are categorised by sub-assembly which is further sub-divided into mandatory replacement parts, on-condition replacement parts and parts with special instruction that the Overhaul Supplier will need to consider.

All parts listed as on-condition replacement will require functional testing where applicable and a visual inspection which may require either a partial or complete strip down of components.

two.2.4) Description of the procurement

Transport for London are seeking to to procure a package of work to overhaul the Jubilee Line (96TS) Train Operator Seats.

The Jubilee Line is served by the 96 Tube Stock (96TS) fleet, which comprises 63 x 7 car trains and 126 DM cars with 126 seats.

All seats were last overhauled in 2011 and have a planned overhaul frequency of 9 years. The seats are experiencing a high failure rate.

Transport for London (TfL) have conducted a Condition Assessment (CA) on a number of sample seats to identify key items of failure.

The seats have been stripped down to its individual assemblies to produce a set of requirements found in the tender overhaul specification

In addition, historical failure data and previous modifications have been considered in the development of the overhaul tender specification.

The overhaul requirements are categorised by sub-assembly which is further sub-divided into mandatory replacement parts, on-condition replacement parts and parts with special instruction that the Overhaul Supplier will need to consider. All parts listed as on-condition replacement will require functional testing where applicable and a visual inspection which may require either a partial or complete strip down of components.
