Section six. Complementary information

six.3) Additional information

The Pupil Equity Fund (PEF) forms part of the GBP750m Attainment Scotland Fund, which has been invested over the current parliamentary term. This funding provides targeted support for children and young people affected by poverty to achieve their full potential. The funding is focused on activities and interventions that will lead to improvements in literacy, numeracy and health & wellbeing.

The Family Support provision, currently provided by Action for Children under CC9779 – Family Support Worker Provision in schools, expires on 03/10/21 with no option to extend. The scope of provision provided in 2021 increased from 319 hours to 340, therefore it is important that additional support is made available beyond the expiry of the current contract to ensure continuity of service provision.

Given the time pressures around this requirement, it would not be feasible for the requirement to be subject to a tender, therefore a direct award is proposed for a period of 9 months.

There was no price/quality evaluation as this was a direct award
