East Sussex County Council is the Lead Local Flood Authority for its administrative area. Currently, this means that it is, amongst other things, has a statutory duty to respond to consultations on major planning applications with surface water drainage. (General Development Management Procedure Order 2015 (Schedule 4 Consultations before the grant of permission category ZE))

In practice this means that the LLFA comments on the drainage design and local flood risk implications (surface water, ground water and ordinary watercourse) of new development.

This will include pre-app consultations by developers or Local Planning Authorities (LPAs), consultations on applications for outline, reserved matters, or full planning permission. It also included consultations on the discharge of conditions and any application to vary conditions of a permission.

We are looking to contract in order to fill two roles:

1. Drainage Officer

2. Principal Drainage Officer
