Need for modification brought about by circumstances which a diligent contracting authority/entity could not foresee.
Description of the circumstances which rendered the modification necessary and explanation of the unforeseen nature of these circumstances:
This modification is being made under the provisions set out in Regulation 72 (1) (c) (i), (ii) and (iii).
The demand for services supplied by this contract have significantly increased during the period of the contract, over and above the estimates and contingencies provided for in the initial tender documents which is resulting in the need to uplift the value of the contract. Anticipated demand was carefully calculated for this contract, and contingencies were built into the contract in case of increased demand. However, the scale of the increase in demand has been beyond that allowed for and could not have been foreseen by the Contracting Authority.
