DfI Roads, Consultancy Services operates the Strangford Lough Ferry Service using two roll on roll off (ro-ro) ferries, the MV Portaferry II and the MV Strangford II. Both vessels have Voith Schneider Propulsion equipment installed.The propulsion unit control system on the Strangford II is also manufactured by Voith Global. This contract will be for the continued procurement of spare parts and engineering services to facilitate maintenance and repair of the Voith equipment directly from Voith Turbo Ltd. and will will minimise delay in delivery when parts and engineering services are required urgently.
