two.2.4) Description of the procurement

The University of the West of England's (UWE) 2030 Strategy (which can be found here https://www.uwe.ac.uk/about/values-vision-strategy/strategy-2030) sets out a confident and ambitious future for UWE Bristol and focuses on our ultimate goal - Transforming Futures – Focusing on, our Purpose, our People, and our Place. The maintenance of the built environment is an essential precursor to achieving these ambitions. The scope of the contract will include repair and maintenance of building fabric, mechanical and electrical assets in the University's non-residential and non-residential properties. Planned, preventative maintenance and reactive maintenance services will be required. UWE principally consists of 3 (three) main campuses within a 6-mile radius of Bristol city centre. In total all UWE campuses cover an area of 88 hectares. Total gross internal area (GIA) of 317,340 m2. Reactive, estimated jobs per annum: Electrical - Non-Residential (5,061), Electrical – Residential (4,481), Mechanical - Non-Residential (5,462), Mechanical – Residential (3,313), Fabric - Non-Residential (4,917), Fabric – Residential (1,139) Total reactive: 24,373. Planned Preventative Maintenance estimated jobs per annum: Fabric (9,267), Electrical (39,373), Mechanical (25,831). Total planned jobs: 74,471. Out of hours estimated jobs per annum: Non-Residential (20), Residential (385). Total out of hours jobs: (405). Grand total jobs: (99,152).The value of the current contract is circa £3.5m per annum.
