NHS Somerset Integrated Care Board (ICB) intends to award a contract to Young Somerset to deliver a Community Wellbeing Service which is tailored for children and young people aged 5-18 living in Somerset or registered with a Somerset GP.
The Community Wellbeing Service aims to enhance the mental and emotional health of children and young people within the community through various objectives:
• Early Intervention and Prevention: Identifying and addressing issues at their onset to prevent escalation.
• Promoting Mental Health: Providing resources and support to bolster emotional wellbeing.
• Supporting Families: Offering guidance to families to support their children and young people.
• Social Inclusion: Encouraging participation in community activities to reduce isolation and foster a sense of belonging.
• Safety and Protection: Safeguarding children from harm.
• Advocacy and Empowerment: Empowering children and young people to voice their needs and concerns.
• Collaboration and Networking: Building partnerships with other services to create a holistic support network.
• Health Inequalities: Recognizing and respecting diverse backgrounds and cultures.
• Outcome Measurement and Evaluation: Continuously monitoring and assessing the impact of services to ensure they meet the needs of children, young people and families.
This notice is an intention to award a contract under the competitive process.
The contract term is for 3 years with an optional extension of any period up to 2 years, with service commencement on the 1st July 2025.

The dates between which the services are intended to be provided, are 1st July 2025 - 30th June 2030 including extensions.
The contract value is £783,000 per annum giving a contract value of £2,349,000 for the initial contract period and £3,915,000 if the full extension period is adopted.
