Central Bedfordshire Council (CBC) will be undertaking the procurement of a delivery partner to maintain, manage and improve its highway network and associated assets. The new arrangements will commence delivery from 1st April 2023.CBC wishes to engage with potential providers to understand the market appetite and to help refine the proposed model prior to the formal start of the procurement process and would like to invite potential suppliers to an online market engagement event on Monday, 21st February 2022 at 11:00.Please review section II.2.4) Description of the procurement of this PIN notice for full details.Organisations who would like to attend the market engagement event are to express their interest by email to claire.edmunds@centralbedfordshire.gov.uk by 12 noon, on Friday 18th February 2022. Central Bedfordshire Council (CBC) will be undertaking the procurement of a delivery partner to maintain, manage and improve its highway network and associated assets. The new arrangements will commence delivery from 1st April 2023.CBC have a identified a core highway service contract as its preferred option. The core highway service contract will include:Routine and reactive maintenance of the highwayPlanned and cyclical maintenance of the highwayEmergency and out of hours responseWinter maintenanceDrainage cleansingStreet lighting maintenanceConstruction of highway and associated asset improvement schemesThe estimated contract value is £18M per annum.CBC wishes to engage with potential providers to understand the market appetite and to help refine the proposed model prior to the formal start of the procurement process. Following the event, potential suppliers will be given the opportunity to provide feedback via a short questionnaire. CBC may then invite potential suppliers that submitted a questionnaire to attend 1-1 meetings with CBC during the week commencing 28th February 2022.Attendance at the market event and completion of the questionnaire is optional and will not form part of any tender evaluation.
