This is a voluntary ex ante transparency notice (VEAT). This notice is to indicate that NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde intend to contract with Schneider Electric for the planned maintenance of the Building Management System at Garntnavel General Hospital. This is a closed protocol system that requires that attendance of a Schneider trainer specialist engineer to maintain the system which is critical to the running of the hospital and compliance.
Without using this specialist contractor, timeous repairs and early warning of potential faults and issues would not be possible. This would endanger patient welfare at a basic environmental level.
The contract also allows the system to be checked for faults that develop through the natural aging of the system, whilst recommending repairs/replacements that will optimise its longevity, and functionality. The Schneider engineer will be available on site 3 days per week and system coverage is available 24/7 356 through the contract.
This service has an estimated cost of 100,000 GBP for an anticipated 12 month period.
