There is a need for BlueLight Commercial to support Police Forces with a compliant route to market for PAVA Spray. PAVA is classified as a prohibited weapon by virtue of Sec. 5 (1)(b) Firearms Act 1968 and is now the only spray used by police forces in the UK. UK Police Forces had traditionally used CS gas spray, but with the more widespread carriage of Tasers, PAVA has now entirely replaced its predecessor due to its non-flammable nature. PAVA is significantly more potent than CS gas. This requirement is to establish a National framework for the supply, delivery and disposal of PAVA Spray and a replica training spray.
