two.1.4) Short description

The term of office for the current External Auditors expires with the completion of the audit of the statements for the year ended 31 July 2020. The University therefore require a new contract for the provision of External Audit Services to be in place from March 2021. The timetable for this further competition is detailed in section 1.9. It should be noted that all shortlisted bidders will be requested to attend an interview in Canterbury, Kent on 24 February 2021. Due to other commitments of the parties involved this is the only date that can be offered for the panel interviews to take place.

Justification:

An accelerated process is required in order for the University to procure an external auditor by March to commnese the external audit. A previosu attempt to procure this opportunity under the Crown Commercial Services Management Consultancy Framework (RM3754) Lot 3 - Audit was unsuccessful and has led to another procurement process being required under a tigher timescale.
