two.1.4) Short description

Leicestershire County Council would like to invite contractors to be appointed onto a Framework Agreement for Small Works and Minor Building Adaptations.

The framework is for the provision of minor adaptations in the homes of service users to assist people to live safely and independently in the community, to avoid hospital admissions or to enable hospital discharge.

Minor adaptations are items that are easily installed and require no structural alterations. They include items such as grab rails, additional stair rails, half steps, small ramps, lever taps and lighting for people with a visual impairment.

Each order value for minor adaptations is under £1,000 and Leicestershire County Council have a legal obligation to provide them under the Care Act 2014.

We are looking to appoint several suppliers onto separate lots (contracts) for each type of work. Lots are split as follows:

Lot 1 Small Electrical Work

Lot 2 Joinery

Lot 3 Small Plumbing Work

Lot 4 General Building Work

Lot 5 Modular Ramping

The majority of work on this contract will be non-urgent and have a target date of 7 working days. Many referrals from Health partners are required for hospital discharge or to prevent a hospital admission. These referrals are prioritised to ensure the work is carried out as soon as possible as there are financial penalties for Leicestershire County Council if hospital discharges are delayed. Some work orders will be emergency works, where emergency call out times will need to be met (within 48 hours). Any urgent works will be agreed with the contractors.

A bidders event shall take place via Microsoft Teams on the morning of 6th February 2023. This bidders event shall be approx 1 hour long and further details regarding the event and how to register can be found on the Invitation to Tender document.
