The Leys, Upper Temple Walk, Leicester LE4 0SW is a seven-storey block consisting of thirty-three self-contained units divided into eleven one-bedroomed apartments and 22 studios (bedsits). Following the undertaking of a detailed feasibility study which looked at a number of options to re-configure the recently acquired building, the building is to be fully refurbished in order to meet current regulatory standards for residential units of accommodation within buildings of multiple occupation incorporating:
· The full internal refurbishment of dwellings and communal areas including all buildings Services (Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing & Heating);
· Repairs & maintenance to the building's fabric based on dilapidation information.
· The improvement of external spaces incorporating landscaping, off road parking and perimeter security.
The Authority wishes to ensure that its procurement opportunities are open to small and micro local enterprises, voluntary, and community sector organisations as it appreciates the very important role they play in the local economy. Tenders from these organisations are particularly welcomed.
