Leicester City Council invites Tenders for the provision of Dog Kennelling and Pet Boarding Services.

The proposed contract will be for three years with options to extend for a period or periods totalling no more than a further two years.

two.2.4) Description of the procurement

The Supplier shall be competent and experienced in the care and wellbeing of stray dogs found within the administrative area of the Authority in accordance with S149 of the Environmental Protection Act and also all other domesticated animals in accordance with Animal Welfare Act 2006.

The Authority’s requirement is as follows:

• Dog Kennelling – Approximately 250 stray dogs per annum, kennelled to a maximum of seven days if necessary.

• Pet Boarding – Approximately 50 animals per annum. These are predominately cats and dogs but may include birds, rodents or reptiles. The expected average length of boarding is three months.
