The execution of the works undertaken by the Contractor under this Contract shall enable the Council to discharge their responsibility under The Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1974; PUWER; LOLER and any other statutory regulations in relation to the servicing and inspection of Lifts, excluding the provision of Thorough Working Examinations. The Contract shall comprise of periodic inspection of Lifts in accordance with Appendix B - Servicing Schedule along with relevant industry guidance, best practice and manufactures instructions, at Shropshire Council sites along with those of other external clients to the Council.

two.2.4) Description of the procurement
The execution of the works undertaken by the Contractor under this Contract shall enable the Council to discharge their responsibility under The Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1974; PUWER; LOLER and any other statutory regulations in relation to the servicing and inspection of Lifts, excluding the provision of Thorough Working Examinations. The Contract shall comprise of periodic inspection of Lifts in accordance with Appendix B - Servicing Schedule along with relevant industry guidance, best practice and manufactures instructions, at Shropshire Council sites along with those of other external clients to the Council.
The Contract shall also cover repair works to all assets under the Contract, within the timescales stated in clause 5, subject to the prior approval of the Budget Holder and Council and shall be in accordance with clause 2.13
The Contractor shall provide the Council with the services of a Rescue Service as defined by BS EN 81-28:2018 “Safety rules for the construction and installation of lifts - Lifts for the transport of persons and goods Part 28: Remote alarm on passenger and goods passenger lifts”, for all Lifts fitted with Autodialers covered by the Contract. Required response times are further detailed in clause 7.
The service visits are to be within the months shown in Appendix A - Schedule of Properties and shall not lapse the date given. Inspections are permitted to be undertaken up to 2 weeks early.
The Contractor shall provide documented testing in accordance with SAFed Supplementary tests of in-service lifts, as called for by the Council’s Competent Person to support their reporting process.
The contract will be for an initial period of 3 years commencing on the 1st April 2021 with the option to extend for a further period of up to 2 years.
