two.1.4) Short description

The framework being bided is for a period of 2 years with an option to extend for a further 2 years in 12-month increments.

The Framework is designed to deliver:

• Safe and suitably controlled licensed and non-licensed asbestos remedial works (asbestos removal, encapsulation or repair, inclusive of disposal of any waste generated as hazardous waste at a suitable, licensed facility) in both occupied and unoccupied dwellings as well as non-domestic premises (communal blocks, community centres, garages)

• 24 hours, 7 days emergency attendance in the event of disturbance or potential disturbance of known or presumed ACMs, making safe the environment and surrounding areas where necessary

• Provision of completion certificates, work area photographs, waste consignment notes and any other relevant documentation following asbestos removal

• Work closely with SHG’s independent UKAS accredited asbestos consultancy

Note – All of the above are mandatory elements of the contract and therefore bidders should not submit a bid unless they are able to deliver all elements of the works required

The properties to be covered in this contract include sheltered housing schemes, residential multi story blocks, residential dwellings, schools, care homes, offices and community centres. All properties are within or around the Stockport borough area, but this could increase to surrounding boroughs (e.g. Tameside, Trafford and Greater Manchester). The successful Tenderers will work across all subsidiaries of SHG.
