two.1.4) Short description

Edward Jenner Court is an Extra Care Living Development situated in the North West of Lyde Green within South Gloucestershire. This development consists of 50 flats with communal areas and a 24/7 care provision. There is also a Bistro and hairdresser on site.

30 of the flats are affordable rented flats. There will be 100% South Gloucestershire Council nominations with and eligibility criteria (i.e, care need). The remaining 20 flats are shared ownership (part sale, part rent) for homeowners. South Gloucestershire Council residents will be prioritised for these flats.

Edward Jenner Court is due to be completed in June 2021 and ready to accept residents from August 2021.

The Contract with the successful supplier will initially be for a period of 5 years with the option to extend for a further 2 years.

two.2.4) Description of the procurement

This is a development partnership with Housing 21 who will be managing the scheme. The successful Supplier will be required to work in partnership with both the Council and Housing 21 as the scheme landlord.

Care and support must be available 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, 365 days per year and must include a minimum of 1 waking night staff. In addition, services must be managed to ensure that support is available at short notice and to enable immediate responses to increases in care requirements and to facilitate prompt hospital discharges.

The expected core hours of 300 per week shall be provided at any time between 7am and 11pm 365 days per year and does not include night support between 11pm – 7am. However, the tendered hourly rate for core hours must include the cost of the waking night staff
