The Contractor is responsible for the day-to-day and long-term maintenance of the Linkspan equipment to ensure operational availability to meet the demands of the ferry services. The Contractor’s regular effective inspection, maintenance, defect repairs and swift response to break-down callouts (fault response) are crucial to enable these Linkspans to operate and allow the ferries to provide lifeline services to the routes that they serve.

The Client (Caledonian Maritime Assets Ltd) intends to procure testing, inspection, monitoring and necessary maintenance service on the mechanical, hydraulic and electrical equipment (such as pumps, cylinders, diesel engines, wire ropes, mechanical links etc) of their linkspans to comply with all relevant statutory, regulatory, operational or safety requirements. The equipment to be maintained is installed on or around roll-on roll-off linkspan bridges which are located in various ports servings routes to the islands and west coast of Scotland.
