two.2.4) Description of the procurement

National Museums Liverpool, whose legal name is National Museums & Galleries on Merseyside (NMGM), is inviting tenders for a procurement to appoint an Architectural Design Team which will consist of Lead Consultant and Principal Designer (the Architect) and sub-consultant team. The team is to work with National Museum Liverpool (NML) and our community partners in developing the transformation project for both the International Slavery Museum and the Maritime Museum (ISM and MM). This would entail the refurbishment of both the Martin Luther King Jr Building and the Hartley Pavilion and the creation of a link bridge between both buildings at first floor level.The Architect will act as ‘Lead consultant’ and Principal Designer for the Architectural Design team, and shall provide, or procure a team of Sub-Consultants for the services outlined below and in the Annex 1-6. The Lead Consultant shall ensure the services as outlined in Annex 1-6, perform and deliver services in line with the RIBA Plan of Work 2020 and shall carry out the services required of the design team and provide the required and necessary skills and care and have relevant experience of a working on projects of similar size, scope, nature, and complexity to the ISM/MM Transformation project. • Architect (Lead Consultant)/Conservation Architect• Building and Structural Engineer • MEP Building Services Engineer• Fire Consultant• CDM Principal DesignerCurrently the scope of this project is funded by The National Lottery Heritage Fund.
