Theyare typically accessed via a smartphone app or online and engage the patient without theinvolvement of a clinician.The evidence-based therapeutic intervention must be registered asa medical device and must be regulated by the MHRA for use in the UK. The evidence-basedtherapeutic intervention must be compliant with the Digital Technology Assessment Criteria(DTAC).Sub-Category 26.1 – Digital cognitive behavioural therapy for adults withinsomniaAn evidence-based therapeutic intervention delivered through software to prevent,manage, or treat insomnia and insomnia symptoms. This intervention will be accessed via asmartphone app or online and engage the patient without the involvement of a clinician. Theevidence-based therapeutic intervention must be registered as a medical device and must beregulated by the MHRA for use in the UK. NICE have Conditionally Recommended these CBT technologies to be used as an initial treatment option for children and young people with mild to moderate symptoms of anxiety or low mood, while evidence is generated. The therapeutic intervention must be registered as a medical device and must be regulated by the MHRA for use in the UK.
