two.2.4) Description of the procurement

a) The Contractor must provide annual testing, inspection maintenance, and routine repair of the 43 high mast lighting columns, located across 8 Airports (Benbecula, Dundee, Islay, Inverness, Kirkwall, Stornoway, Sumburgh and Wick), to the current industry standard (PLG 07). A schedule of the columns with the most up to date information known is in the Tender Pack.

b) The Contractor must provide annual reports on the condition of each inspected mast at each airport site together with forecast planning including estimated costs, for repairs and/or replacement in each of the forthcoming 3 financial years, on a rolling basis. The reports must be in electronic pdf format and submitted by the end of November each year.

c) In addition, the Contractor may be required to undertake new works as directed by the HIAL Mechanical and Electrical Manager, related to airfield high mast lighting, which will include design, supply, installation and commissioning of apron lighting and associated lighting works.

d) In a phased programme, the Contractor will be instructed to replace all TH/SON light fittings with compliant LED light fitting equivalents at 5 of the above 8 airports, to reduce energy consumption and carbon footprint.
