Section six. Complementary information

six.3) Additional information

The MPS is considering the selection of a panel of contractors to undertake

refurbishment works across the London & Greater London area. It is

anticipated that this building works framework will be for a four-year duration,

and will provide the MPS capacity to enter into individual building works

contracts not exceeding £5m in value. The majority of projects are anticipated

not to exceed £1m in value, but may do so by exception where efficient use of

the framework is deemed appropriate. This framework will be open to GLA

Functional Bodies and the wider public sector within the South East. However

the primary purpose of the framework is to provide the MPS with the

contractual capacity to deliver projects and programmes for the MPS estate of

mainly minor and intermediate value refurbishment works with an anticipated

annual spend of between £25m and £40m.

Works are to include but not limited to:

- Internal refurbishment and fit out

- Alteration and extension

- Decoration

- Mechanical and electrical installation, repair and replacements (depending on

engagement this may fall into a separate lot)

- Internal and external fabric repairs, replacement and installation

- Demolition

- Asbestos removal

- Works requiring a dangerous structures license (depending on engagement

this may fall into a separate lot)

The MPS are also considering a trade based lot for mechanical and electrical

installation, repair and replacement with an expected expenditure of £5m per

annum.

The MPS does not anticipate contracting new build works through this

framework, however they may wish to use this framework for new build projects

should the need arise.

Please confirm your interest by responding to this PIN and the associated

market engagement questionnaire which can be downloaded from the EU

Supply portal. This PIN is issued to gain views from interested contractors on

the structure and nature of a new framework.

This PIN is not a call for competition. All information published in the PIN and

accompanying documents is indicative only and subject to change. The MPS

will not be liable for any costs incurred by those participating in the preliminary

market consultation.

Please submit completed questionnaires to CommercialMailbox-.Construction@met.police.uk by no later than 22/01/2021.
