Scope
Description
BNSSG ICB is seeking to fund the delivery of a poverty awareness and action programme for our local NHS workforce.
The intended outcomes from this programme are that:
- The BNSSG NHS workforce becomes more aware of the health and care-related impacts of poverty and what can be done to address this.
- NHS services improve their ability to reach and respond to those who are facing financial hardship.
- Through this, we improve patient outcomes and reduce inequalities.
Based on feedback from our providers, we are seeking to fund a model that offers the following:
1. Training: A one-hour introduction to poverty awareness and action. This awareness raising session will be offered online and will be available to all local NHS staff and provided online
2. A 'champions' programme: to include more in-depth training and support for champions to put this learning into practice through making changes in roles/services. The programme will be offered to a small number of identified workforce across our local NHS organisations including acute trusts, Primary Care and other providers.

- Quantitative information about the number of sessions delivered and the number of people attended.
- Qualitative feedback from people who attend training sessions - their experience of the training and what has been learnt and the impact of this.
- A detailed evaluation of the champions programme to consider its impact. The details of this to be agreed between BNSSG ICB and the training provider.
