Scope

Description

HSE require a liquid hydrogen flow conditioning module for use during a research test programme. The flow conditioning module should be able to produce a flow of cryogenic gaseous hydrogen at a set flow rate (between 30 - 400 g/s) and temperature (between 25 - 50 K).

Liquid hydrogen will flow into the conditioning module in which the liquid hydrogen will be vaporised and temperature controlled. A supply of gaseous hydrogen is available to mix and heat the liquid flow if required, though a suitable design will reduce the flow requirements of ambient temperature hydrogen. A supply of water is also available as a heat exchange medium if required, or other heat exchange fluid may be used

The equipment is required for use at the HSE Buxton (SK17 9JN) test site.

HSE is seeking to understand the design of potential solutions and the associated costs of manufacturing this equipment.

Suppliers should email tenders@hse.gov.uk with any questions and costs associated with supplying the above.
