Description

Bath Spa University is seeking expressions of interest from experienced systems integrators to support the refurbishment of its TV Studio facilities at Newton Park Campus. The project involves the design, procurement, fit-out, integration, and commissioning of a complete end-to-end solution for the University's multicamera TV production environment.

The existing facilities, installed in 2013, include two production studios, a TV studio gallery, a central apparatus room, two audio mixing studios, and nine postproduction edit suites. After twelve years of continuous use, the infrastructure is due for a technical upgrade. The current system is based on a five-camera SDI setup, and the University is seeking to transition to a SMPTE ST 2110 IP-based backbone. The new solution will include updated embedded cameras, production and acquisition equipment, and must support both teaching and commercial use.

The refurbishment will integrate with existing room layouts and wiring where possible. There is no longer a requirement for delivery of equipment for March. The studio will be required to be fully operational for teaching for the beginning of the academic year in September 2026. Due to teaching requirements, installation will begin in June 2026 following the end of the academic year.

Interested suppliers must also be able to provide maintenance and service contracts for a minimum of five years following installation. Bath Spa University invites suppliers with relevant experience in broadcast systems integration, particularly within educational and commercial environments, to register their interest. A pre-market engagement questionnaire is available on the portal for completion.
