This notice is published by ScotRail Trains Ltd (SRT) and is intended to advertise a market engagement exercise. This is in relation to an intended procurement for the contracted service overhaul of Air Receivers for the Class 153, 156, & HST (Class 43 Power Car and Mark III Coach) fleets at nominated ScotRail depots.

This requirement, which has an intended duration of an initial 4 years plus a possible option to extend by a further 12 months, will be tendered as a single Lot for Air Reservoirs overhaul service in accordance with RISAS safety critical and rail standards.

two.2.4) Description of the procurement

The objective of this procurement is to appoint a SP capable of delivering an overhaul solution for Air Reservoirs – Pressure Testing – on 153, 156, 158 & HST fleet (Class 43 Power Car and Mark III Coach), supporting the Operator’s operational performance targets and asset management strategy.

An air reservoir is defined as a vessel (other than a pipe coil or ancillary fitting and part of the compressor) for containing compressed air. The group definition is based on the Reservoirs function, material and vehicle classification. ScotRail Trains Limited reserve the right to add or remove the numbers of overhauls per class of train, as the business requires.

The supplier should be RISAS registered, and services must be in accordance with PB/TP1487 Overhaul of Air Reservoirs (for Porterbrook 158 vehicles only). WOSS 310/8 Version 4: Repair Procedure – Dismantling, Cleaning, Examination and Repair, Reassembly and Painting, and Test Specification for train classes 153, 156, & HST (Class 43 Power Car and Mark III Coach).

As part of this service, SRTL requires the supplier to deliver a robust identification labelling system to asset manage each tank to identify the kit and record the overhaul completion date and associated data.
