Description
The UK Government operates a number of different schemes to people in need of protection from a range of different regions across the globe. In some instances, pledges have been made to the Home Office by local authorities to offer resettlement opportunities and, in other instances, participation is required. The support needs of each scheme share some similarities but there are also several differences so the service must be able to adapt to varied support needs and changing landscape. The service will support both existing supported/resettled families/individuals and new families/individuals arriving.
The service's main purpose is to support successful resettlement; supporting citizens to settle into their lives in their new homes, including managing their finances and accommodation, accessing services and ultimately being able to live independently and feel part of the community in which they live. This may look different for different families/individuals and for the different schemes. For example, the Homes For Ukraine Scheme is a temporary visa scheme and so people's needs may differ to those on resettlement schemes who have arrived with indefinite leave to remain.
