Provide specialist workers to enable members of the public who need additional support to meaningfully engage with a complex legal process and make their own decisions.
The lots are:
1. Mental Health Lay Advocacy
2. Cognitive Impairment Lay Advocacy
3. Physical Impairment Lay Advocacy
4. General Lay advocacy
5. Intermediaries
Lot 1. Lot 1 Mental Health Lay Advocacy
Description
Mental health but may also need support due to issues such as: Physical impairment (including long term health issues) Acquired brain injury Neurological disorders Learning disabilities/ difficulties Conditions on the Autistic spectrum Asperger's syndrome Children and young people Older people People who are isolated or only have limited access to support Currently affected by a difficult life event (this list is not exhaustive)

Description

Description
Physical impairment e.g. • Long term health issues • Deaf or hard-of hearing • Blind or visually impaired • Are deaf blind • Speech and language difficulties (this list is not exhaustive) but may also need support due to issues such as: Acquired brain injury Mental health Neurological disorders Learning disabilities/ difficulties Conditions on the Autistic spectrum Asperger's syndrome Children and young people Older people People who are isolated or only have limited access to support Currently affected by a difficult life event (this list is not exhaustive)
Lot 4. Lot 4 General Lay Advocacy
Description
General Children and young people Older people People who are isolated or only have limited access to support Currently affected by a difficult life event e.g. bereavement or another type of traumatic life event e.g. domestic violence; sexual assault (this list is not exhaustive)
Lot 5. Lot 5 Intermediaries
Description
Primary need: Communication impairment This may be as a result of: Mental health Cognitive impairment Learning disabilities/ difficulties Neurological disorders Acquired brain injury Conditions on the Autistic spectrum Asperger's syndrome Children and young people Physical impairment (including long term health issues) Older people with additional needs People who are currently affected by a difficult life event - people who may be currently finding it difficult to go through complex processes due to a recent life event, for example bereavement/ sexual assault. (this list is not exhaustive)
