Extreme and unavoidable urgency
The council were required to terminate an existing contract for the transportation, recovery and treatment of waste wood due to market conditions in wood processing capacity. Given the urgent need for this service, the council does not have sufficient time to complete an open procurement exercise. The councils market research shows that the appetite and ability to provide the service we require at this time, is extremely limited. It is the intention to advertise an open tender competition as soon as possible.
