Need for additional works, services or supplies by the original contractor/concessionaire.
Description of the economic or technical reasons and the inconvenience or duplication of cost preventing a change of contractor:
When tendering for the new Maintenance of Street Lighting contract, multiple bidders requested an extension to the tender period, to ensure that open and competitive tenders are received the Council considers it prudent to grant this request. Due to the extension this will not allow sufficient time to complete the evaluations, award process and update systems prior to the current contract end date. It was decided to extend the contract to 1st April 2026 to ensure a robust evaluation and award process could be undertaken for the new tender and allow the identified preferred bidder and the Council suitable time to commence the new contract.

Updated total contract value before the modifications (taking into account possible earlier contract modifications, price adaptions and average inflation)
