Scope

Description

UKRI-NERC wishes to establish Contract(s) for the design and delivery of up to three (3) projects, to connect and engage a broad range of audiences with nature.

Total value (estimated)

  • £112,500 excluding VAT
  • £135,000 including VAT

Description of possible extension:

Contracts shall be Completed by 31st March 2026, with optional extensions of 2 x 2-week periods from commencement of the Contract.

Lot 2. Lot #2: Environmental security

Description

NERC priorities under this theme include: increase our power to predict environmental change; integrate geopolitical and environmental risks; build resilience in critical systems.

During a recent consultation exercise participants identified that many key environmental issues affecting us are linked to climate change and the need to address the negative impacts of the climate crisis in areas such as food security, energy, waste management air and soil quality, climate inequalities and transport.

Lot 1. Lot#1 Green Growth

Description

NERC priorities under this theme include: tackle climate change mitigation and adaptation together; deliver prosperity through effective management and restoration of the environment; maximise the value of the environment to the UK economy.

Public dialogues have highlighted access to green spaces and nature (and the inequalities that affect it) as a key priority. They also identified collaboration between social and environmental scientists, sustainable food systems and action to address biodiversity loss as important areas for future focus.

Description

NERC priorities under this theme include: harness novel technology; robust evidence without advocacy; innovate from our data.

Understanding the impacts of innovative technologies to ensure they are being used for positive benefit and public good was identified as the main priority by the public audiences recently consulted.
