Description
Durham County Council requires a provider/s to handle the new influx of designated food waste following the new Food Waste Legislation beginning on 01/04/2026. The Provider shall accept all Contract Waste delivered by the Council to designated facilities or delivery points, including contingency sites, and treat all Target Materials via Anaerobic Digestion to produce digestate. The Provider shall be responsible for maintaining Delivery Points and Treatment Facilities to ensure consistent service delivery, minimising health and safety risks in compliance with legislation, guidance, and best industry practices.
