Description

The Association of North East Councils Ltd trading as the North East Procurement Organisation (NEPO) is establishing a multi-contractor, multi-lot Framework for the provision of a highways surfacing works framework. This Framework offers Contracting Authorities access to Suppliers providing a diverse range Highway Surfacing Works.

The works covered in the Framework have been split in to 16 lots:

2 Grouted Macadam

3 Surface Dressing

5 Hot Applied High Friction Surfacing

6 Cold Applied High Friction Surfacing

7 Slurry Seal of Footways

8 Slurry Seal / Micro Asphalt of Carriageways

9 Carriageway in Full Depth Recycling

10 Carriageway Re-tread

11 Captive Shot Blasting - Mechanical Retexturing

12 Hydro blasting - Surface Retexturing

13 Patching

14 Alternative Patching Methods: Hot Applied

15 Alternative Patching Methods: Cold Applied

16 Road Markings

17 Surface Preservation: Penetrative

The value of each lot is determined by dividing the framework value by the number of lots. While individual lots may exceed their calculated value, the total must not surpass the overall framework value which is distributed across two Contract Award Notices due to system issues.

Lots 1 - 9 are subject to a separate Contract Award Notice due to system issues.

Design Manual for Roads and Bridges - Volume 7.

Description

Road Markings must be supplied following the process specification of The Manual Of Contract Documents for Highway Works. Volume 1: Specification for Highway Works, Series 1200 with accompanying Notes for Guidance (MCHW 2) in NG1200, sets out the requirements for these materials.The following standards must be followed: Design Manual for Roads and Bridges - Volume 8 Section 2. BS EN 1436:2018, which specifies performance requirements for road markings. BS EN 1790:2013 Road marking materials. Pre-formed road markings. BS EN 1824:2020, which outlines requirements for conducting road trials of marking materials. BS EN 1871:2020 - covers physical properties of road marking materials.
