To increase equity of access to cancer pre-habilitation and rehabilitation support for people living in Wirral. This will be done through testing an expanded primary care based model which optimises the physiological function of people living with cancer before treatment.
The pre-habilitation element of this service will enable people to prepare for treatment by improving their health and fitness, then complimented by the rehabilitation element, aims to accelerate post treatment/surgery recovery, reduce the likelihood or impact of any complications experienced afterward and improve their ongoing quality of life.

This is a Provider Selection Regime (PSR) confirmation of contract award notice. This contract has been awarded under the Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023. For the avoidance of doubt, the provisions of the Public Contracts Regulations 2015 do not apply to this award. This contract has now been formally awarded using direct award process C.
NHS Cheshire and Merseyside ICB -Wirral Place have awarded a 1 Year contract via Direct award C to incumbent provider to deliver the Cancer Prehabilitation Service in Wirral. The contract started on the 1st of April 2025, and expires on 31st March 2026 and has an annual contract value of £184,062.
