Scope
Description
Bangor University is seeking a competent Lift Maintenance Contractor to provide statutory compliance and preventative maintenance for its portfolio of passenger, goods, platform, and stair lifts. The University’s stock is aged, with many obsolete systems, and therefore a focus on minimum statutory compliance, reliability, and effective reporting is required. Bangor University would like to invite expressions of interest from suppliers who are qualified and interested in this opportunity to enable us to decide the best route to market.
Core Requirements
The Contractor will be required to deliver:
· Statutory inspection and preventative maintenance of all lifts within scope, to comply with LOLER, PUWER, EN13015, and relevant British Standards
• 24/7/365 callout service, including:
• Entrapments: attendance within 1 hour (working hours) / 2 hours (out of hours).
• Breakdowns: attendance within 2 hours (working hours) / 4 hours (out of hours).
• Emergency release of trapped persons.
• Repair and rectification of defects identified by third-party inspections (LOLER/insurance).
• Proactive, preventative maintenance in accordance with manufacturer requirements and industry codes of practice.
• Supply of spare parts, labour, and materials (excluding vandalism/misuse, unless agreed).
• Auto-dialler installation and testing.
• Compliance with statutory safety requirements for machine rooms, pits, shafts, lighting, and safe access.
• Clear communication, single point of contact, and uniformed, trained engineers.
Bangor University has 59 Lifts across its campuses in Bangor, Anglesey and Wrexham with varying models, ages and conditions. Year of Manufacture ranges from 1965-2023.
