Description
Cardiff and Vale University Health Board, acting on behalf of the All Wales Genomics Service, intends to award a contract to Covaris, Inc. for the provision of maintenance services and consumables associated with a high-throughput sonication system supporting Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) workflows.The consumables and maintenance are essential to ensure consistent performance and reliability of the system, which is used to process samples in plate formats for downstream NGS library preparation. This supports the expansion of somatic cancer testing services across Wales.Covaris is the sole provider of consumables and maintenance for instruments utilising its patented Adaptive Focused Acoustics (AFA) technology. No alternative suppliers were identified during market engagement, and these items are not available via national procurement frameworks.The contract will cover the supply of consumables and maintenance for a period of three years (inclusive of warranty), with an option to extend for up to two additional years.This notice is issued in accordance with procurement transparency obligations and to ensure compliance with public procurement regulations.
