Scope
Description
The ErP Programme seeks to improve the environmental performance (energy efficiency as well as other relevant environmental criteria) for specific energy-related products and product groups and better inform end users about energy efficiency and other relevant environmental impacts. The two main policy levers for achieving this are Ecodesign (for example, minimum energy performance standards) and energy labels which provide consumers with easy-to-understand information about the energy efficiency of products. Additionally, on a case-by-case basis, policy work considers the impacts of products and/or product groups throughout their whole life cycle such as product lifetime, non-energy impacts, waste and recycling, transportation, and manufacturing.
