Section six. Complementary information
six.3) Additional information
This contract has been awarded under the urgent circumstances provision of the Provider Selection Regime (PSR). This contract has been awarded under the Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023. For the avoidance of doubt, the provisions of the Public Contracts Regulations 2025 do not apply to this award.
Due to unforeseen circumstances the contract for EMG/NCS and EEG services for adults and paediatrics is being terminated by the commissioning organization. A phased wind-down has been agreed with paediatric services ending 1st February 2026, and with adult inpatient cover continuing for only 6 weeks until Sept 12th 2025. Also, there will be no new outpatient referrals being accepted after 1st August 2025. All patients that have been referred up to that date and do not have an appointment will be returned to UHB for testing. There are a total of 264 patients within this cohort. Due to such timelines and the need to prevent any disruption in essential diagnostic services across both Adult and Peadiatric Services, urgent action is required to put alternative arrangements in place to manage risk, and support the continuation of patient care inline with the incumbents exit strategy.
Conflicts of interest identified among the decision making group - None
