Maidstone Grammar School for Girls, or ‘MGGS’, as it is more often known, has a strong community spirit which is underpinned by our belief that the happiness of all our students is key to enabling them to succeed. We have been providing an academic education for girls (and boys in the Sixth Form) from the town of Maidstone, and its surrounding area for over 135 years.
As an outstanding school we are ‘A forward-thinking community with a tradition of excellence’, ensuring we develop young adults of character, who are able to flourish as adults in today’s society.
Our academic curriculum at MGGS provides students with outstanding examination results year on year and we seek a catering partner who will mirror and support our excellent standards.

Tender information:
The successful tenderer will be required to provide catering services to MGGS.
The contract term being tendered is for three years, 1st April 2025 – 31st March 2028. There is an option for a further extension period for up to two additional years to 31st March 2030.
The contract offers an excellent opportunity to review and propose enhancements to the current catering services at the School. This includes but is not limited to; breakfast, morning break, lunchtime and after school services, over the academic year of 190 days.
The school is keen to secure a high quality catering service including fresh locally sourced ingredients prepared on site, with a menu design that is flexible to suit the requirements of the school’s specific students. The school is proud of it’s ‘family ethos’ and expects both a tightly managed service and a management style delivered by the successful contractor that supports, encourages and develops the catering staff. The school is also keen to ensure the caterer provides efficient and effective ‘back of house’ systems and has a tight control over its accurate financial reporting.
The school is not obliged to accept the lowest price submitted for this tender, rather the school is keen to secure ‘best value’ from this contract and to deliver ‘best value’ to its students. Innovative and creative ideas as to how the services can be developed and value added, will be welcomed. The school seeks a contractor that is keen to work in partnership and who will deliver to its highest abilities, at all times. The contract shall be a guaranteed performance contract with any hospitality requirements billed separately

●The minimum annual turnover that your company must have achieved to be considered for this opportunity is £1 million
●There are no incumbent catering staff currently within the Local Government Pension Scheme
