Provision of outsourced bariatric surgery within Somerset for up to 20 patients. 10 patients by 31/10/25 and potentially up to a further 10 patients by 31/12/25 (or sooner). Procedures include Allurion Balloon placement and Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass.

The Trust intends to outsource surgical treatment for bariatric patients in the short-term to reduce waiting lists. This notice is an intention to award a contract under the PSR Most Suitable Provider process. The total lifetime value of this contract is approximately £150,000.00. The Trust does not currently have a contract in place for this service. The Trust has used the selected provider in the past.

Contract end: 21 December 2025

This is a Provider Selection Regime (PSR) intention to award notice. The awarding of this contract is subject to the Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023. For the avoidance of doubt, the provisions of the Public Contracts Regulations 2015 do not apply to this award. The standstill period begins on the day after the publication of this notice. Representations by providers must be made by midnight on 18 September 2025. This contract has not yet formally been awarded; this notice serves as an intention to award under the PSR.

The decision was made by the Deputy Director Surgical Services. No conflicts of interest were declared.
