Description
The services required are the provision of residual waste recovery / transfer services in East Lancashire.
For a Treatment Solution, the services will likely comprise the acceptance, weighing and recovery of residual waste arising from the Waste Collection Authority district area and delivered to a provider's facility by the Waste Collection Authority and/or its transport contractor. This may also include a provider facility that acts as a transfer station, with the provider taking the responsibility for the onward transportation and recovery of the residual waste at a dedicated recovery facility.
For a Transfer Solution, the services will likely comprise the acceptance, weighing, segregated storage, handling, and loading of residual waste arising from the Waste Collection Authority district area delivered to a provider's facility by the Waste Collection Authority and/or its transport contractor. The provider will bulk-load the residual waste onto the Authority's transportation vehicles and the Authority will transport the residual waste to the Authority's Waste Recovery Parks at Farington or Thornton.
Either solution would manage East Lancashire's Waste Collection Authorities residual wastes. Such wastes principally consist of household kerbside collected residual waste, but would also include elements of bulky waste, commercial waste, fly-tipped waste and street cleaning waste.
